When was the last time you paused and took a moment to think…? I mean, really think…
In the fast-paced world that we live in, in order to be effective, we have become proficient at undertaking tasks effortlessly, without thinking, e.g. ‘unconscious competence’. However, being ‘unconsciously competent’ also has potential dangers, as operating on autopilot means that we run the risk of not being fully mindful, present and engaged in the moment.
It is essential that we take the time to regularly stop and think in order to check-in with ourselves, while decreasing the risk of becoming complacent, making assumptions or taking things for granted.
